Job Title: Assistant Director
Garden Gate Child Development Center, Featherstone Lane Oak Bluffs

Full-Time/Year Round Position
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Assistant Director beginning July 1st 2025 to support both the administrative and educational functions of our Early Childhood Program. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing administrative work with hands-on engagement in the classroom.
Administrative Duties:
• Assist with daily operations of the school, ensuring a smooth and efficient environment.
• Handle basic office tasks such as data entry, scheduling, record-keeping, and communication
with families.
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with enrollment processes.
• Support the Director in implementing school policies and procedures.
• Assist with organizing events, parent communications, and staff scheduling.
Classroom Responsibilities:
• Work with toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners, supporting teachers in daily activities.
• Foster a nurturing and creative learning environment that aligns with our art-based curriculum.
• Assist in classroom setup and maintenance, and facilitating engaging activities.
• Supervise and support children in their learning, play, and social interactions.
Qualifications:
• Experience in administrative roles, preferably in an educational or childcare setting.
• Experience working with young children.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Comfortable with basic computer tasks and data entry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Desire to support early childhood education and creativity in learning.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required):
• Familiarity with play-based and/or art-based learning approaches in a classroom setting.
• Experience in a leadership or supervisory role in an educational setting; EEC Director I or II Certification preferred.
Compensation Information:
The Assistant Director position’s pay is 30.00 - 34.00/hr; actual salary will reflect level of experience and qualifications relative to position requirements.
4 or 5 day work week available. Hours: 8:00-3:00, Monday through Friday.
Paid Vacation: Full Year - 7 weeks during school closures.
All Federal Holiday paid.
Personnel days: School Year - 7 paid days, Summer - 3 paid days
